Chinese architecture (中国建筑的遗产)

Chinese architecture has a history of thousands of years, reflecting the country's philosophy, culture and social life. Ancient buildings were often made of wood, featuring curved roofs and richly decorated brackets. Palaces, temples and gardens were designed not only for practical use but also to embody harmony with nature. For example, roofs often curved upward, a style believed to ward off evil spirits. One remarkable feature is the emphasis on symmetry, which represented balance and order. The Forbidden City in Beijing, for instance, follows strict symmetrical design to highlight imperial power. This combination of tradition and innovation keeps the architectural heritage alive.
