  1. 英文:The partial becomes complete; the crooked, straight; the empty, full; the worn out, new.

  2. 英文:He whose (desires) are few gets them; he whose (desires) are many goes astray.

  3. 英文:Therefore the sage holds in his embrace the one thing (of humility), and manifests it to all the world.

  4. 英文:He is free from self-display, and therefore he shines; from self-assertion, and therefore he is distinguished; from self-boasting, and therefore his merit is acknowledged; from self-complacency, and therefore he acquires superiority.

  5. 英文:It is because he is thus free from striving that therefore no one in the world is able to strive with him.

  6. 英文:That saying of the ancients that ‘the partial becomes complete’ was not vainly spoken: — all real completion is comprehended under it.

  • 平行结构(Parallelism):大量使用重复语法模式,如“The partial becomes complete; the crooked, straight…”
The weak becomes strong; the quiet, powerful.”

  • 定语从句与省略:如“He whose (desires) are few…” 可改写为“He who has few desires…”
  • 强调结构:如“It is because… that…”

A partial view became complete with more evidence.
The crooked road eventually straightened.
An empty mind is open to new ideas.
Worn-out clothes get replaced first.
  • go astray (phr.):迷失 → 例句:Too many goals can make you go astray.
Fewer desires lead to greater peace.
The sage speaks little but wisely.
Humility opens doors that pride closes.
Letting go of striving brings true victory.
His warning was not vainly spoken.
  • comprehended under it:归结于此 → 例句:All truths are comprehended under love.

“Dude, life’s kinda funny like that, right?
What’s missing or incomplete often ends up whole in the end.
The crooked stuff straightens out over time.
An empty glass is the one that gets filled first.
And something totally worn out? Yeah, that’s what gets replaced with something brand new.

It’s the same with wanting stuff:
If you don’t want much, you usually get what you need.
But if you’re always chasing more and more, you just end up lost and confused.

So the really wise people?
They just stick to one simple thing: staying humble.
They live by it and show it to everyone without making a big deal.

They don’t show off — and that’s exactly why they stand out.
They don’t push their opinions — so people actually listen to them.
They don’t brag about what they’ve done — and somehow everyone still gives them credit.
They never act like they’re better than anyone — and that’s how they keep growing and end up on top.

Here’s the crazy part:
Because they don’t compete or fight for stuff, nobody in the world can actually beat them at it. They’re just playing a totally different game.

That old saying about ‘the broken becoming whole’?
It’s not just some empty wisdom.
Real completeness, real fulfillment — it all comes down to this backwards way of looking at things.”
